Not an authentic American Apple charger. It looks similar but if you actually read the words on the plug, they’re all misspelled. The charger end that plugs into your iPod/iPhone is not as thin as the one that comes with it. If you have a cover on your iPod/iPhone, there’s a high likelihood that it won’t connect properly and won’t charge.
It may be inexpensive, but it’s worth the extra money to get one made by Apple. Don’t let them fool you too!

I’m using it right now. Works just fine with my iPhone 3GS + I have iLove hard case cover on it / connects with iTunes as it should.
